I was very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. He was considered
by me and many others as a special friend. It was a very special
opportunity to have him preach at Stevenson during our
monthly worship services for several years. He would always
tell the men to try Jesus for a month and if you don't like it
the devil will take you back. Many will be in heaven because
Joe shared with them. We are praying that God's comfort will be with you.

My brother in Christ
I will treasure our times in prison ministry. The men still ask about you. You had a great testimony and message because of your experience. That’s what God does, he calls the weak and sinners to be examples of how we can be changed. I repeat your saying many times. “You tried it your way, how did that work out... now how about try it God’s way and see the difference. “. God’s grace abounds and abounds. Sin remains on earth but today you graduated to Heaven where I am sure the preaching level has gone up a notch. My friend...my mentor, ... my brother I am happy you are free from the earthly chains that held you back. See you in eternity!!

Our heart felt sympathy goes out to all of you. It is such a terrible loss for our family. We will miss Joe. We find peace in knowing that he did close his eyes and take his last breath on this Earth only to open his eyes and take his first breath looking into the face of God. Although none of us were ready to let him go yet, God didn't care and took him home. He's now in a better place with all of our family and friends that have went before him. Joe will always have that special place in our hearts, especially mine.

You taught me right from wrong. you taught me commen sense. you taught me hard work pays off. You showed me how to read my Bible. You showed what a relationship with God really means. I know you have plenty of crowns to cast at the feet of Jesus. I hope I will too, when I get there. you and David are probably already fishing in the big pond. Tell my grand dad hello. I will see y'all soon. until then my faith will remain.

Dog on you Boy, you got there before me. I am so jelly. I am honored to have served with you all these years. We have laughed and we have cried all in the name of our LORD. Welcome home brother and rejoice. Give my boy a thump on the head and until we meet again. Go rest high on that mountain.
See ya later.

I still can’t believe your gone, I didn’t get a chance to tell you goodbye, but I know you are in Heaven with our Daddy and Blenza Sue and I can’t even imagine the welcome you received when you got there. Our hearts are heavy and broken but I am trying to take solace in that you can feel your feet now and can run on streets of gold, and feel your hands so you can play your guitar now better than you ever could before. I’m so glad that you were my Brother, you will always be on my mind and in my heart. Give our Sister and big hug and kiss for me. I will see you both again one day and we will never have to say good buy again. I love you Joe Sox.. Your Sister Leigh Ann.
