Obituary of Wise Elliott Pillow

Wise "Joe" Elliot Pillow Jr, 61, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 24, 2018, at his home. He was born October 27, 1956 in Key West, Florida, to the late Wise Elliot Pillow Sr. and Sue Whorley Pillow. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Blenza Sue Pillow, father-in-law, Lloyd Kyzer, and sister-in-law, Libby Pillow. Joe, as he was called by everyone, loved his family and always enjoyed spending time with them at family reunions, where he would play the guitar and sing. He was always willing to do anything he could for his family and friends. He loved riding motorcycles and telling people about Jesus, who, other than his wife, was his greatest love. He will be in our hearts forever, and we know we will see him again one day. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Janie Kyzer Pillow, son Jason (Jami) Pillow of Lexington, brother David (Mary Pat) Pillow of Columbia, brother Ed (Brenda) Pillow of Hopkins, sister Leigh Dreamer of Columbia, mother-in-law Flossie Kyzer of Lexington, step-mother Barbara Pillow of West Columbia, niece Susan (Torin) Gordon, niece Amanda Pillow, Nephew David Pillow, niece Rachel Burns, sister-in-law Bonnie Burns (Jr), and many special cousins whom he loved very much. A celebration of his life will be held Friday March 30 at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 546 Gardners Terrace Rd; West Columbia, SC 29172 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior. Pastor Greg Dowey will be officiating. South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family.
