Obituary of Deborah Newell Eargle

Prosperity, SC - Debbie Eargle, eldest daughter of the late Bill and Barbara Newell, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 21, 2021 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Debbie was a devoted mother and sister, with a kind and generous heart who always put the needs of others first. Her son and cats were the love of her life. Her cheerful attitude and contagious smile will be missed dearly by all who loved her.

Surviving Debbie are her son, Aaron Michael Eargle (April); sister, Tammy Goodwin (David); brothers, Tim Newell (Pam) and Chris Newell; nieces and nephews, Genie Clonts (Joel), Amber Cheshier (Marshall), Hunter Goodwin, Travis Newell (Brittany), Kayla Newell, and Lucian Newell.

One of Debbie’s earliest jobs was at Olympia Mills (in Columbia, SC) before going to Ellett Brothers (in Chapin, SC). She later worked at Verizon, but was most happy at her last job as a Billing Coordinator with SouthWest Water Company (in Elgin, SC). The family would like to thank Debbie’s co-workers at SouthWest Water Company for their generosity and support during this difficult time.

The family would also like to thank the doctors and staff at Columbia Community Hospice House on Stoneridge Drive, in Columbia, SC, for the excellent care they gave Debbie (and the family) during her final days.

At Debbie’s request, no service will be held but donations can be made to Pets Inc., in West Columbia, SC, in her memory. The family wishes to thank Pets Inc. for how helpful they have been with Debbie’s cats after her passing.

South Carolina Cremation Society of West Columbia is assisting the family.  Family and friends may sign the online tribute wall at www.southcarolinacremation.com
