Obituary of Pamela Patrice Rolen
Pamela Patrice Rolen of Vinton, VA, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 61 on July 30, 2021 in West Columbia, South Carolina where she was working as a nurse for the DOD. She was a treasured wife, sister, aunt, step-mother, grandmother and friend. Pam was born in Smyth County, Va on May 13,1960 and spent her life serving others. This passion was demonstrated in her giving nature to her family, but also in her time as a registered nurse for 35 years. She continued her nursing career by working for the DOD after retiring from the VA State Health Department with 30 years of service.
The simplest pleasures in life brought Pam happiness. She loved spending time with family, camping, and enjoying wildlife and nature. She loved caring for her cats and she especially enjoyed attending baseball games with her husband, Ronnie.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin & Janie Rolen. She is survived by her many family members: loving husband, Gerald Ronald Craig; brothers & sisters-in-law, Tim & Teresa Rolen (Kayla Rolen & fiance Joseph Payne); Wade & Liz Rolen (Kelsee & Matt Tignor); sister, Karen Rolen (Jacob & Lisa Rolen & children Henry & Amber); step sons & daughters-in-law, Ronnie & Lisa Craig (Dustin, Logan & Zach Craig); Bill & Kathy Craig (Andrew & Whitney Craig & children William & Addie; Sam, Isaac, & Abigail Craig).
To honor Pam’s life, memorials may be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
