He retired from the Town of Holly Hill where he served as the Town Water and Sewer Supervisor. He was a lifelong member of Pine Tree Hunting Club where he spent most of his time hunting, fishing, and socializing with his family and friends. He was fondly known as “Teddy Bear” by all the club members and this name describes him perfectly. He was a kindhearted and loving soul who spent his life putting others before himself. He loved his family and close friends fiercely and treasured his time with them. He was loyal and completely dedicated to those he loved. He leaves his family with traditions and memories of a simple, honest, and family focused life. These traditions and memories are priceless to his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. It is rare to find someone who no one can say one negative word about, but this is a true statement about Don “Teddy Bear” Shuler.
In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask that you instead take a moment to live your life like Don….hug your loved ones, take time to enjoy the outdoors and take in all of what nature offers, live life to its fullest and do not take it for granted because time waits for no one.

Dad
by Karen K. Boyer
He never looked for praises
He was never one to boast
He just went on quietly working
For the ones he loved the most.
His dreams were seldom spoken
His words were very few
And most of the time his worries
Went unspoken too.
He was there….a firm foundation
Through all our storms of life
A sturdy hand to hold onto
In times of stress and strife.
A true friend we could turn to
When times were good or bad
One of our greatest blessings
The man that we called Dad….
