Obituary of Geomani D. Winstead

Geomani D. Winstead was born March 6, 2003 in Columbia, S.C and passed on February 26, 2021. He is survived by his mother, Kanisha Evans and father, Gentry Winstead, his siblings, Kyrie Perry (7), Rahkiya Perry(4), LaNiya Winstead (8), Za’Riyia Winstead (8), Gianni Winstead (2), Kimora Henry (13), and Londyn Henry (9).

Geo started his battle with cancer at the age of 11. It wasn’t an easy road. Most of his childhood was spent in the hospital, seeing doctors, and having surgery, but through it all he maintained a positive and upbeat spirit. He enjoyed his family, friends, and girlfriend (Angela Gonzalez), and especially his (Gwanma) Carrie Winstead and (Papa) Larry Winstead.

Geo was undecided on what he wanted to be when he grew up. He was a bright young man, and really good in math! At one point in time, he wanted to be a chef, and another he played around with the computer engineering. No matter what he would have chosen, he would have been great at it because he had a major will power to fight. He had over 12 major surgeries throughout his lifetime and managed to come out on top every time.

Geo was a special spirit and a light that shined so bright like a diamond. It didn’t matter who crossed his path, he would always be rememberable. He smiled and cracked jokes all the way up until the end. He is a “HERO”, a “SUPERHERO” and he will always be loved.

A special thanks to Reginald Perry (Roc), Nicole Crowe (NiNi), Ashley Tokar, Aunt Chris, Nikki, Savannah and everyone who played a role in helping Geo (it takes a village). We are forever grateful to each of you.
