Obituary of Judy Cook Bowell

Judy Cook Bowell, age 75, passed from death to eternal life on March 6, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center.

She was born in Mullins, SC on December 3, 1945 to the late Mack Daniel Cook and Dessie Richardson Cook. She is survived by her sister Betty Jean DeShong and husband Fred of West Columbia, SC; brothers, James E. Cook and wife Cecilia of Jacksonville, FL; M. Dale Cook and wife Mary of Lexington, SC; and sister-in-law Carol Ann Cook of West Columbia. Also surviving are her grandchildren Beth and Emily Quinton of Ohio; Collin Quinton and wife Andrea of Idaho; and Joshua Smith of Georgia; her great-grandchildren Oliver, Virgil, Wyatt, Charlie, and Ellie Jean. In addition, Judy leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Desmond Bowell; her daughter Tammy Brooks; brothers S.E. Cook, Sr. and Bobby Cook, as well as an infant sister.

Judy was a very caring person, generous with her time. She often checked on neighbors and friends who might need her help. In her later years, she was a caregiver, always concerned about her patients. When she was unable to get out and about, she kept in close touch by phone with friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

No formal service will be held. South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family with final arrangements.
