Obituary for Virginia Elizabeth Scott
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Virginia Elizabeth Still Bernardo Scott.
Virginia Elizabeth Scott, 98, or Ninety Six, South Carolina passed away October 22, 2022, at her home in Ninety-Six, South Carolina, surrounded by family. She was born on March 24, 1924, in Greenwood, South Carolina to Joseph and Addie (Guynell) Still.
Mrs. Scott returned home to her Lord and Savior on Oct. 22, peacefully in her sleep and at her home. Known affectionately at Mama Jenny, she retired from Greenwood Mills as a devoted mill worker and also from Self Regional Healthcare Gift Shop where she worked as an attendant. Mama Jenny was the eldest living member of Temple Baptist Church of Ninety Six, S. C., a dedicated member of the Eastern Star, and a proud volunteer with Hospice.
Mrs. Scott leaves behind her daughters; Judy Terry (Bernardo) and Marian Crowder (Scott). She is also survived by her grandchildren; Leitreanna Terry-Brown, (T. Matthew), Frank Crowder, (Debbie), Patrice Ledford, and Suzanne Hogan, Great Grandchildren; Mia Smith, (Kevin), Elijah Brown, (Charlotte Delk), Dustin Ledford, (Jamie) Jessica Hogan, and Alyce Hogan. Mama Jenny is also leaving behind two Great, Great Grandchildren, Charlotte Elizabeth Smith, and Isabella Marie Smith to treasure her memory
Mrs. Scott was the widow of the late Sgt Leon P Bernardo, and the late, Woodrow Scott. Mama Jenny was preceded in death by her brothers; Charles Still, Joseph Still, and her stepson, Wilson Scott.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 29, at 2:00 pm, at Temple Baptist Church in Ninety Six, S. C. followed by a small reception in the Fellowship Hall. The family is receiving friends at the home. Flowers can be sent to the home at 219 Saluda Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
