Obituary of Cherish Nicole Anglin Rushing

At the age of 36, Cherish Nicole Anglin Rushing left this world on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

“Nikki” as she was known to her family and friends, was born to Robert Anglin and Lori Stone Anglin on July 29, 1986 in Vicksburg, MS. She spent most of her early years in the small town of Newellton, LA. On May 29, 2004, she married Jeremy Rushing of Crowville, LA and joined her husband, an Infantryman in Georgia and later South Carolina. While supporting her husband’s military career and various deployments, they welcomed 3 sons to their family. Nikki graduated from Paul Mitchell the School in 2014 when she began her career as a cosmetologist. She loved being creative and you never knew if her hair was going to be red, platinum, or purple. Anyone who knew Nikki recognized her vivacious spirit and unwavering love of life, which was always evident in her colorful appearance. One thing she valued was acceptance and freedom of expression, and she made sure to instill these values into her boys. They hold these today and will carry them forward. Whether she was known to you as Cherish, Nikki, or Nicole, you knew her to be adventurous and unapologetically so. She will be fiercely missed by all who knew her.

Nikki was preceded in death by her mother, her maternal grandparents, Delma and Barbara Stone, and paternal grandparents, AC and Nellie Anglin. She is survived by her husband, Jeremy and 3 sons, Glendon, Maddox, and Liam Rushing of Camden, SC, father, Robert Anglin of Opelousas, LA, sisters, Shannon Johnson (Jeremy) of Rayville, LA, Kelsea Anglin of Ladson, SC, brother, Desten’Lee Ryals of West Monroe, and many more beloved family members.

The family will hold a private memorial service in South Carolina and Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nikki’s name can made to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to send a special thank you to South Carolina Oncology Associates and Prisma Health Hospice.
