Obituary of Frances Young Lauderdale Amick

"Frankie” was born August 3, 1944 to Martha and Robert Lauderdale. Sgt. Lauderdale died in WWII. Frankie graduated from Manning High School in 1962. She attended U.S.C School of Nursing, and graduated from Columbia Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. She was part of the last class to Graduate from the “Old Columbia Hospital”.

Frankie retired from the S.C. Dept. of Corrections, and continued working at 3 Rivers Behavioral Center, until her health forced her to retire in 2008. She resided with Kim,, Robert, Javaris and Brutus at home, until her death at Prisma Health Baptist Hospital, on August 10, 2022.

Frankie was pre-deceased by her father, Robert Lauderdale, her mother, Martha Johnson, father of her heart, Edward B. Broadway, & her sister, Sandra F. Broadway.

Frankie is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Branon, son-in-law, Robert Branon, Alyssa Amick, all of Columbia, and her sister, Vivian Broadway, of Naples, Florida. Granddaughter's, Sherri Mayers, Brittany Lucas, and Christina Oswalt, and her husband, Brian Oswalt. 
Great-Grandchildren, Javaris, Riley, Emma, Trent, Brice, and her best friend Brutus, all of whom loved and cherished her.

Memorials may be sent to The Columbia Free Medical Clinic, or any local No-Kill animal shelter.
