Obituary of Sherry Lee (Meadows) Watkins

Sherry Lee (Meadows) Watkins, age 59, of Dalzell, SC passed away from this life on July 8, 2022 in Dalzell, SC at her home after a battle with lung cancer. She was born October 26, 1962 in Hinton, West Virginia to Donald Lee Meadows and Gloria Elizabeth (Stanfield) Meadows Warr.

Sherry worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse from 1992 and became a Registered Nurse in 2008. Her career specialty was with Hospice. She was truly honored to be a part of the patients and their families lives during the transitioning from this Earth to Heaven. She enjoyed her two Yorkies, Sophie and Simba. She took pride in her many houseplants, as she understood when one leaf would die, another would bloom, and this was a reminder to her of “The Circle of Life”. She was very involved in the Beanie Baby Craze and Precious Moments figurines.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lee Meadows and Gloria Elizabeth Stanfield Warr; her son, Kenneth Michael Watkins; her spouse of 27 years, Kenneth W. Watkins; a sister, Brenda Darlene Meadows; a very special aunt, Maria McCarty, along with her grandparents, Earnest and Glenna Meadows. She is survived by one sister, Donna Dennis, and husband, Michael Dennis; two brothers, Scott Warr, and wife Rosa, along with Danil Warr; two daughters, Leslie McMinn of Carlsbad, NM, and Christina Watkins of Summerville, SC; four beautiful granddaughters, Michelle, Kensley, Nevaeh, and Kendall; five nieces, Ashley, Jennifer, Alli, Anna, and Marrissa, along with one nephew, Paul Adam, and numerous other family and friends.

There will be no services, per her request. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Sumter County Animal Shelter.
