Obituary of Jeannette Fennell Syracuse

Jeannette Fennell Syracuse, 73, of Chapin, South Carolina passed away July 2, 2022 at the home of her son in Chapin, South Carolina. She was born on July 13, 1948 in Columbia, South Carolina to the late Huss C Fennell Sr. and Helen Park Fennell.

Jeannette is survived by her son, Myre George Syracuse III (Sallie), granddaughter, Rachel McMillan Syracuse, sister Helen Fennell (Joseph), and brother, Huss Cummings Fennell, Jr. (Sharon), sister-in-law Candace Fennell, and many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her brother, John Hugh Fennell.

Jenny graduated from A.C. Flora High School and the University of South Carolina. She was retired from the State Department of Social Services where she was the Child Support Assistant Director for Financial Services. She was an avid golfer, a member of Mid Carolina Ladies Golf Association, Hackers Golf Association, and Cal’s Gal’s, an excellent Bridge player, and loved going to the beach with her friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother “Jenjen” sister and friend and will be missed by all. She was truly courageous, and never gave up.

The family will receive friends at 7 Morning Breeze Ct, Chapin, SC, 29036 from 1pm-4pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 for a Celebration of Jenny’s life.
