Obituary of Dona J. Hendrix Moore

Dona received her eternal crown in Glory on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Born in Regensburg, Germany, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles and Libby Owens.

Though small in stature, Dona was mighty in heart, and this was never more evident than in the love she had for her family. Dona held to her faith in Jesus Christ and wasn’t afraid to share that faith with everyone she met. She was an active member of Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served for many years. Dona was an avid gardener; she could make nearly anything grow. She was a talented hair stylist, and amazed others with her gift of interior decorating. Dona’s joyful spirit and love of laughter will never be forgotten by anyone who knew her.

She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Libby Owens, her sister Debbie Hoover, her beloved husband Rev. Roger A. Moore, Sr., and her grandson Elijah Samuel Hendrix. All of whom she longed to see again. Survivors include her children and greatest joy; son Joshua Tyler Hendrix (Justine) of Chapin, daughter Jordan Gray Frye (Shane) of Columbia, sisters Kitty Brown of Columbia, Skeeter Geddings of Sandy Run, and brother Gene Owens of Newberry, a host of nieces and nephews, and her brothers and sisters in Christ at Horrell Hill Independent Baptist Church.

Proverbs 31:10 – Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.        This describes our beloved Dona, more precious than any jewel.
