Obituary of Robert Peter Polidor, Jr. (Bob)

Robert Peter Polidor Jr. (Bob) blessed his parents, Robert Peter Polidor Sr. and Dorothy Polidor (Wilson) on August 3, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA. While growing up in South Philly, he became quite a character who had a panache for trouble from sawing off table legs to tormenting his two sisters, Donna Lee Altieri and Deborah Scalzetti. Bob married Patricia Ann Polidor (Rumford) and was the father to David Thomas, Denise Louise, Dawn Marie and Pamela Jean. He passed away at 80 years old on March 29, 2024.

Bob (the famous RPP) was retired from both the U.S. Army and RPP Motors, his own company. He was a very talented mechanic who could diagnose a car issue by the noises it made or someone’s description of the problem. He loved to make people laugh or get a reaction from them and he did so by telling jokes (off-colored and potentially offensive at times) or making a tall-tale of his true life stories. To say that Bob was opinionated is an understatement. His strong opinions were derived from his life experiences, which were not all good, and wanting to protect the ones he loved. Bob was a social person who would talk to anyone. Some might say he was rough, but those who truly knew him know that deep down Bob was a kind man with a huge heart.

His family and friends will miss him and his unique way of interacting with the world. He is survived by his sister - Donna Lee Altieri of Cherry Hill, NJ, daughters - Denise Louise Scott of North Wales, PA, Dawn Marie Kolakowski of Akron, PA and Pamela Jean Parvesse of Cincinnati, OH, his 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
