Obituary of Samantha Herring Moseley

Samantha Herring Moseley age 54, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Samantha was born on July 28, 1969, to Charles “Cotton” and Betty “Jeanne” Herring.

Sam’s childhood was filled with travels to many places, and she was a proud army brat! They were stationed in places like Georgia, where she was born, Texas and Germany. Sam loved living in Stuttgart, Germany with her parents and her sister Wendy. Sam was into fashion, music, dancing and was on the Stallionettes dance team. Shortly after high school, they moved back to the states where Sam met the love of her life Ray in 1990 and married in 1992. They made their home in Cayce / West Columbia and welcomed a daughter, Hailie in 1996.

Sam worked in finance for many years and retired from Lexington Medical Center. Sam’s calling in life was helping people in which she excelled. Sam loved all things Carolina Gamecocks. She and Ray were avid fans.

Sam was funny, loyal, kind and very creative. Sam could take one man’s trash and turn it into treasure. Sam loved life’s simple pleasures, and the thing that she loved the most was being an Oma (Grandma) to Liam and Makenna. Being a proud Oma gave her great joy. She loved the beach, caring for her grandchildren, crafting, cooking and being with her friends and family. Sam was always the first one to help anyone in need and was a true giver in life and in death. Sam’s last act of kindness was being an organ donor where she helped several recipients. She was an incredible soul and will truly be missed.

Sam is survived by her husband, Ray, her mother, Betty “Jeanne” Herring, daughter, Hailie Moseley, two grandchildren, Liam and MaKenna, sister, Wendy Stukes (Craig), nephew, Austin Stukes (Taylor) two great nephews, Easton and Emmett and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
