Obituary of Thomas Scott McLean

Thomas "Scott" McLean, 55, of Leesville, SC passed away on January 10, 2024 after a brief illness. He was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife, Angel Shelton-McLean.

He is predeceased by his parents, Thomas "Tom" McLean and Gayle S. McLean of Columbia, SC.

He is survived by his beautiful daughters: Lauren McLean of Columbia, SC and Kirstin Stroud (Daniel) of Columbia, SC, step-sons: Michael Shelton (Sarah) of Gilbert. SC and Jason Shelton of Columbia, SC, his remarkable sisters: Sharon McLean (Mark) of Lady's Island, SC, Robin McLean of Columbia, SC and Melanie McLean (Brooke) of Roswell, GA, nephews: Ethan MacIntyre of Marietta, GA, Marshall McLean of Columbia, SC and Caleb Byrd of Columbia, SC, niece, Merritt Wilson (Jack) of Dunedin, FL, great-niece Eden Wilson of Dunedin, FL, uncles: Charles McLean (Carolyn) of West Columbia, SC and Steve Scott (Randolph) of Leesville, SC, Aunt Gerry Averill of Martha's Vineyard, Mass.

Scott grew up in the White Hall area near Irmo, SC. He attended and graduated from Irmo High School. He was an ardent lover of football and baseball. He was a long-suffering fan of the Chicago Bears. He was always hopeful that each new college football / baseball season would be the best one yet for the USC Gamecocks.

Scott was the proud owner of his own business. He valued each client and many were considered great friends.

Scott loved motorcycle rides on his Harley with his wife and son to anywhere. His absolute happy place was the beach.

There is a private celebration planned for a future date to forever join Scott with the sea allowing him to live forever among the waves.
