Obituary of Stanley Earl Martin, Jr.

Stanley Earl Martin Jr, age 68, of Cayce, SC passed away October 7, 2023 from cancer.                                           

Stan grew up in Oak Ridge, TN. He moved to Columbia and decided this would be his home. He loved riding Harley's, and after retiring, loved rescuing and rehabing injured and abandoned wildlife. Stan may have had some struggles, but lived life to the fullest. He loved going on adventures. He worked for 20+ years with Automatic Sprinkler before proudly becoming a Federal Contractor working overseas for the Department of Defense. Stanley had a passion for gardening, especially pineapple. 

Stanley, or Jr as his TN friends and family called him, was predeceased in death by his father, Stanley Earl Martin Sr, his mother, Anna Ruth Martin, his brother, James Madison Martin, and a by-love grandaughter, Jaylan Hasty. Stanley is survived by many loving friends and family, including his partner for life, Gwen Martin; his sister, Anita Jo Fields and her husband, George and their son, Cody Fields and wife Jessica; his nephew by his late brother, Jake Martin and his wife, Lichelle and their son, Cole Martin; his three children whom he loved dearly,  Angela Kruger and her husband Jeff, Barbara Bouknight and her husband, Daniel, Stanley Martin III and his wife Kayla; his three Children by Love, Stephanie Jacobs and her husband, Dwight, Monica Hatton Tatum, and E.T Tatum and his wife, Brigette; his many grandchildren, by blood and by love, known to all as Papa Stan, Justus Hasty, Jordan Proctor, Dylan Fleming, Ian Kruger, Brandon Kruger, Anna Bouknight, Stanley Martin IV, Ava Martin, Luna Martin, Hunter Holland, Patrick Holland, Abagail Holland, Winter Gray, Sky Sutton, Big Jayrron Ratliff and little Jaryen Ratliff, Donivin Tatum, Jackson Tatum, and Miss Kenslie Jane Bates.

Our family is grateful to know that Stanley is finally at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 12 noon at 2000 Johnson Marina Rd, Chapin, SC, 29036. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local wildlife rehab.
