Obituary of Charlotte Ann Scott

Charlotte Ann Scott, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She left this world on September 24, 2023, at the age 79.  

She was born to Charles and Hazel Dockins on May 5, 1944. Born in Kansas, she later moved to Colorado where she grew up with her 7 siblings in the Commerce City area. After graduating high school, she met her husband Robert ‘Bob’ Scott. They married on June 1, 1963 and together, they had sons, Richard and Harold ‘Wayne’. They lived on Lookout Mountain until 1970 when they and their two sons moved to California where they remained until they returned to Colorado in 1996. 

Bob and Charlotte moved to Byers, Colorado in 2000.  After Bob passed in July of 2003, Charlotte remained in Byers before moving to South Carolina in 2019 to live with her son, Wayne until her passing. 

In her younger days, Charlotte loved to dance.  She enjoyed arts and crafts and watching her favorite TV shows. However, her most precious times were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  These are the moments where you could see the joy in her face.  Charlotte was very giving, even in times when she didn’t have a lot to give. 

Preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Charles and Hazel; her brother, Jim Dockins; and sisters, Pamela Reandeau and Tina Passmore. She is survived by her sons, Richard and Wayne; sisters, Mavis Ashby and Bonita Perez; brothers, Chuck and Gary Dockins; granddaughters, Cari Olsen, Cassie Frederickson, Erin Shafer and Lacey Scott; her great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends which she cherished.  

A graveside ceremony will be held at the Byers Cemetery, S. Owens Street, Byers, Colorado on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 10 am, followed by a memorial service at the American Legion Post 160, 278 W. Front St., Byers, Colorado 80103.
