Obituary of Jackie Graham Walker McIlwain

Jackie Graham Walker McIlwain went to be with the Lord on September 27, 2023. Jackie was the daughter of Harold Graham and Sara Jean Rhodes, both deceased. She is survived by her husband, Richard McIlwain, daughter, Lisa Walker White (Tim), son, Chip Walker (Elizabeth), and grandchildren, Ben Raynsford, Allie Brogan (Jay), CJ Walker, Graham Walker, Emily White, and Maddie White, great-grandson, J.J. and a brother, David Graham (Nancy). She was formerly married to Johnny Walker (deceased) and 40 years ago, married Richard McIlwain.

Jackie spent her childhood in Pennsylvania where she had the privilege of being nurtured by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Her family moved to Columbia, SC in 1955 and she attended Dreher High School and USC. In 1964, Jackie married Johnny and had 2 children, Lisa and Chip. While enjoying being a homemaker, Jackie was very active in PTA and other school activities.

In 1977, she founded The Forms Boutique as a subsidiary of Theramed, Inc. In 1982, she purchased the business and opened on Devine Street where she lovingly served breast cancer survivors for over 24 years. She retired in 2006. Jackie was one of the first Certified Mastectomy Fitters in the nation and The Forms Boutique was one of the first in the nation to attain national accreditation with commendation for fitter services.

Jackie has been a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church for almost 60 years. She served in many areas over the years, including the church newsletter and her favorite, the Evangelism Committee. She and Richard hosted a very popular Christmas Eve drop in for the church and community for over 20 years. She had a variety of interests and hobbies including antiques, poetry, watercolor painting and playing games but what she loved the most was spending time with friends and family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her outstanding hospitality and her giving nature.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to SCOA Cares, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.

A celebration of life will be held at Lebanon United Methodist Church, 10220 Garners Ferry Rd., Eastover, SC 29044 on October 28, 2023  at 11:30 a.m. Refreshments, similar to those at previous Christmas parties, will follow in the church fellowship hall.
