Gurtile Branham

Obituary of Gurtile Lovett Branham

Gurtile Lovett Branham, 83, of Lexington, SC passed peacefully at LMC on September 21, 2023.

Born April 23, 1940, in Columbia, to Chester Lovett and Lois Varn. Gurtile aka Gurtie, a resident at Jakes Landing for 40 + years, had a love for simple things in life and baking.

Gertie is survived by her daughter, Audrey Davis; 8 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and even a few great-great grandchildren

Gertie was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Walters; daughters, Michelle DeLoach and Denise Collins; and husband, Cleveland Branham. She will be always remembered as one of a kind. Family cannot express the amount of gratitude we have for the staff of LMC South Tower 6th Floor Med Unit. The compassion and the joy you brought Gertie, on a daily, was much needed for her. Her smiles and jokes will forever remain in our hearts.

“Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and no years.”

A memorial service will be held privately at a later date.

South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family. Family and friends may sign the online guest book by clicking on the “Tribute Wall” tab above.
