Obituary of William David Turner

William David Turner Sr., 77, of Columbia, went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 21, 2023.

He was born in High Point, NC, to the late William Scott Turner and Ethel Mae Laughlin.

Mr. Turner was a former truck driver and warehouse supervisor for Vendor Supply. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church of Columbia. Woodworking was his passion after retirement. He made beautiful things out of wood for many people. He enjoyed doing things around the church and many there love his homemade cole slaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Turner and daughter, Audrea Raley, and twin granddaughters, Jessica and Jennifer.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shirley Turner, daughter, Teresa (Jay), stepdaughter, Cindy McCormick and stepson, Ricky Scurry, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at New Life Baptist Church, 2825 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC 29210 on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Pastor John Hamilton.
