Obituary of In-Ho Chung

The family of In-Ho Chung of Columbia, SC is saddened to announce his passing on August 10, 2023 at the age of 81 years in the Lexington Community Hospice House after battling health complications. 

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Kyung Sook Lee; children: Eun Joo Kim, Hyun Joo Jeoung, Hyung Jung Chung, and Hun Chung;  grandchildren: HaNa Sharman, Woo Jin Jung, Tae Yoon Kim, Yea Jin Jung, Jenny Chung, Elin Kim, Erin Chung and Claire Kim; great-grandchildren Caius Sharman, Emma Sharman; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. 

In-Ho Chung was born to traditional hard-working parents; father Sa Young Chung and mother Eun Hee Jeong in Seoul, Republic of Korea with eight siblings. 

For 30 years, he had worked in the Noodle industry in the Republic of Korea, as a sales and marketing manager. He always had a way with words and telling stories, and loved to live life and enjoyed every living second. He was an avid fisherman who took solitude from the serene sounds of nature but also loved to play golf every chance he got with his wife. Eventually, he embarked on a new adventure to the U.S. to live near his eldest daughter and her family in South Carolina owning a small hole-in-the-wall deli shop “Park Deli” where he thrived as a delivery man, spreading cheers & sandwiches whenever he went. Eventually, he retired due to his declining health. And he spent the remainder of his years with his lovely wife and two pet dogs, which he loved fondly.  

We pray that he found wellness, peace, and eternal joy in these last moments in Heaven. Wearing the biggest and brightest smile that we all remember him by.  Go forth from this world knowing that you are loved beyond measure; that you will be missed more than words can say; that you will be remembered and cherished, and that love will never end. 

Celebration of Life for In-Ho Chung will be held graveside on September 9, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Bush River Gardens for all those who would like to come together for their final goodbyes and pay their respects.
