Obituary of Barry Lee Boyle

Barry Lee Boyle, 87, of Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2023. He was born on December 31, 1935, in Lewistown, Pennsylvania.

Barry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and is survived by his loving wife, Ingrid Boyle; children, Diane Carnes (Bill), Barry Boyle, II (Cheryl) and Kevin Boyle (Toni), grandchildren, Katie Peterson (Seth), Will Carnes (Harrison), Sarah Boyle, Adam Boyle, Mary Kate Gamble (Rob), Andrew Boyle and Anna Boyle; and great-grandchildren, Corr Peterson, Mae Gamble, George Carnes, Annabelle Gamble and Millie Peterson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Boyle Shaak. 

He was also a proud veteran having retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 24 years of service. He enjoyed a second career in restaurant management in Myrtle Beach SC, for his good friend, Harold Tadlock.  

Barry loved his family, he loved his country, and above all he loved the Lord. “I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 304 E. Camperdown Way, Greenville, SC 29601. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff of Gentiva Hospice and the many caregivers during these past several weeks.  

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.
