Obituary of John J. Vecchione, Jr.

John (Jack) Vecchione of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of Hilton Head Island S.C., and Rockaway, New Jersey, passed away on August 5th, 2023. He is the son of Catherine (Costa) Vecchione who raised Jack along with his siblings Terry, Claire, Ronnie, Gail, and Diane.

Jack was born on July 25th, 1933 in Orange, New Jersey. He graduated from West Orange High School,Class of 1952 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Airforce. He served during and after the Korean conflict. Jack went on to work in the insurance industry for both the Prudential & Blue Cross/Blue Shield companies.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Beverly (Davies) Vecchione.

Jack & Bev made their home on Mountain Road in Rockaway Borough, New Jersey, for almost 25 years. There they raised their three children who survive him: Lori (Jim) Andershonis of Long Valley, NJ; Craig (Jane) of Roselle, New Jersey; and Susan of Summerville, South Carolina. Jack is also survived by his much loved grandson, Hayden Andershonis.

Jack had an outgoing personality and could strike up a conversation with anyone.  He will be missed.

A memorial service will be forthcoming at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aiken.
