Bill was a man of many admirable qualities. Energetic, ambitious, and dedicated, he approached life with a jovial spirit and a wise demeanor. His intelligence and loyalty were evident in all aspects of his life. Bill had a deep appreciation for the arts and was an avid lover of music. He was present for every game, competition, and art exhibition, showcasing his unwavering commitment to his daughters' happiness and success. Bill's love for his family extended to his grandsons, Joseph, Ezekiel, Felix, Quinn, and his granddaughter Hazel, whom he adored.

Bill's close ties to his friends and family brought him joy, not only to him, but to anyone who happened to be within earshot. A joyous time was had by all who loved him when he would discuss tidbits of his childhood shenanigans with his lifelong friend Robert Roventini or his beloved cousin, Gary Mena.

Bill had a knack for finding value in everything he did. There wasn't a penny he couldn't find, and he loved to feel useful by taking on various tasks. Whether it was attending concerts, visiting museums, or appreciating the beauty of a painting, he found solace and inspiration in artistic expressions. A historian and philosopher at heart, he was always eager to delve into the depths of knowledge. He was also a sports enthusiast, finding joy in cheering for his favorite teams and engaging in friendly banter with fellow fans.

Bill's educational journey began at Holy Cross Grammar School and continued at Midwood High School, where he earned a NY State Regence Scholarship allowing him to choose any state college and receive full tuition for four years. He instead joined the air force and was honorably discharged in 1966.

In 1981, he married Kathy Jane Borg and got to know her son, Eli Sanchez. Bill and Kathy subsequently gave birth to four additional children in 1981, 1986 and 1987.
