Obituary of Marnie Stuart Cooper

Marnie Stuart Cooper, 82, died July 1, 2023. Born November 2, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John S. Cooper and Marion Miller Cooper.

Marnie had a successful career in real estate where she never met a stranger and made many friends. As an animal lover, Marnie adopted more than 10 dogs throughout the years and was a huge advocate for pet adoption. Marnie was also an avid reader who, once she became home bound, was very appreciative of Julie with the Richland County Library who would deliver numerous library books to her home every month.

Marnie is survived by a daughter, Caroline Brickle  (Mike), granddaughters, Mary Catherine Brickle and Rebecca Brickle, grandson, Adam Brickle, nephew, John S Lyke (Deb), niece, Margaret Lyke, many cousins, and to whom Marnie was a surrogate mother, Beth Standridge, Daniela Pasi and Rockwell.

Marnie was predeceased by two sisters, Candice Cooper and Roddey Cooper Bomar.

The family would like to thank all Prisma Home Hospice staff, especially Tara, Kelly, Paula, Morgan and Joye for their help, love, support and gentle caring through Marnie’s illness.   

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to a pet adoption center of your choice.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
