Obituary of Ronzel Marcus Teasley

Ronzel Marcus Teasley, 75, of Indian Land, SC departed his earthly home on June 10, 2023 after a difficult and lengthy battle with Early- onset Alzheimer’s disease. A native of Elberton, GA, he was born on March 5, 1948 to Thomas Harlon and Ina Burden Teasley.

Mr. Teasley proudly served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to Charlotte, NC where he helped in the family business, “Rub-a-Dub” laundry mat in Starmount. Mr. Teasley was also employed with First Union for 26 years performing maintenance and IT services. After corporate lay-offs, he then found employment with B.J.’s Warehouse until his disease made employment difficult. Mr. Teasley was a fan of Elvis, bluegrass, country hymns, and enjoyed square dancing with his “Honey” and spending time with all the family. He spent his final years traveling with his wife, having a ball dancing at the senior center, and visiting with everyone. He certainly never met a stranger. Even as his memory faded, he would light up when he heard or saw his loving wife.

Mr. Teasley was a dedicated husband for 50 years, father, pawpaw, brother, and uncle. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Katherine Sorban Teasley, son, Tristan Teasley and wife, Angela of Huntersville, NC, grandchildren, Jacob, McKenna, and Sawyer Teasley, sister, Brenda Teasley May of Abbeville, SC, sisters-in-law, Veronica Sorban, Theresa Ramsey, Mary Ann Thornley, Alicia Sorban (Larry) nephew, Ken May (Diana and Hannah), Jack Taylor (Eve), nieces, Theresa Wolf (Dave and Jack), and Gail Ramsey, uncle, Rolly Burden, and numerous cousins.

The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor in Lancaster, SC for their compassionate care for Mr. Teasley, and the many friends who called and offered their condolences. A service will not be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Alzheimer’s Foundation, or any other reputable Alzheimer’s research entity.
