Obituary of Troy David Scanlon

Troy David Scanlon,  48, went to be with the Lord on December 7th, 2021 in Gilbert SC. 

Troy was a family man in every way. He worked hard as a bakery manager and loved his work, but everything he did was so he could provide for his family. He loved his wife passionately and adored his  children. He was a devoted son and brother. He was a follower of Jesus.  He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church. He served the Lord there with a happy heart for 18 years. He graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1992 where he was a proud member of the ROTC program. Then he served with great pride in the US Army. 

His health had declined the past few years. After spending 6 months in the hospital recovering from Covid. He was able to spend the last 4 months of his life at home in the loving care of his devoted wife and enjoying being a father to his children. He fought so hard to stay with them. Now he is healed and is walking with the Lord. 

Troy is survived by his wife, Peni Lane Scanlon, daughter, Rebekah Anne Scanlon; sons, Caleb David Scanlon and Christopher Joseph Scanlon, Brother, Christopher M. Scanlon, Mother-in-law, Patti Moore; Father-in-law, Billy Joe Duffie; Brother-in-law, Travis Duffie Sisters-in-law, Debbie St. Mark(George); AmySilversNephew, Collin Duffie Niece, Samantha Silvers Beloved Uncles, Aunts and cousins.

Troy is pre deceased by his Mother and Father, Roxanne L. Scanlon and Donald G. Scanlon. 

A memorial service is planned for December 20th, 2021 at 11:00am and will be held at Northside Baptist Church 4347 Sunset Boulevard, Lexington, SC 29072, with Military honors.
