Obituary of Howard Charles Witt

Howard Charles Witt, 64, of Lexington South Carolina passed away, November 10, at Lexington Medical Center after a courageous battle with COVID-19. Born, December 3, 1956, in Boston, MA to Manuel and Norma Witt, Howard grew up in Framingham, MA and graduated from UMass Amherst.

Howard was predeceased by his beloved mother, Norma Brodie Witt. Howard is survived by his father, Manuel Witt, daughters, Ashleigh Wilder, and husband, Eric Wilder, Aubrie Witt, and their mother, Jodi Lemieux. Son, Jared Witt, daughter, Deirdre Witt and their mother, Carolyne Hannan. Howie was Pops to his three grandchildren, Nora, Fox, and Bowie Wilder. Dear brother to, Ellen Witt, husband, Thomas Clark, and Linda Witt Chappell, husband, Webb Chappell.  He was a cherished uncle to, Ava Chappell and Julian Chappell and treasured family member to his aunts, uncles and many cousins.

Three years ago, Howie met a southern belle, and began a wonderful life in Lexington, SC, with his fiancée, Jennifer Gee Murphy, and her daughter Lily.

Professionally, Howard directed national call centers for a number of cable TV companies. In the early nineties, Ashleigh and Aubrie often tagged along with their Dad as he covered the influx of calls during Pay Per View fights. Howie later found his calling in counseling others and loved his clients and work family at ALPHA Behavioral Health Center in Camden, SC. He enjoyed walking Lake Murray dam, playing guitar, socializing at the neighborhood pool and fishing in "his" pond.

Howie will forever be remembered as the life of the party, a huge lover of music, and a friend to every stranger he met. In his memory, we ask that you scream at your favorite sports team-ideally the Patriots or Red Sox, blast Bruce Springsteen at a deafening level, and dance like everyone on Earth is watching.

The family wants to send our sincere gratitude to the incredible ICU doctors and nurses at Lexington Medical Center, for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to ALPHA Behavioral Health Center in Camden, SC.  A celebration of his life to be announced.
