Obituary of Sondra Kay Beck

Sondra Kay Beck, age 81, entered her Heavenly home on October 27, 2021. Sondra resided in Lexington, SC with her husband for the last six years and previously resided in Bellevue, OH.

Sondra is preceded in eternal life by her mother, Katheryn Hunt and her father, Oliver Hunt. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, William Herbert Beck , daughters Kathryn Marie Miller (Sean) and Sharon Margene Beck (Todd) and sons William Michael Beck (Natalie) and Timothy Oliver Beck (Vickie), brothers Richard Hunt, Tony Hunt and Dale Hunt (Ruth Ann), 10 grandchildren Adam Smetana, Rachel Blanchette, Kelsey Miller, Jacob Miller, Zachary Miller, Jessica Beck, Libby Rigney, Katie Parker, Jayden Beck, and Olivia Beck, and 10 great grandchildren, Logan, Addy, Ryan, Rae,Terrance, Harper, Riley, Beck, Maxine and Jubilee.

Sondra was born in Greenfield, Indiana on November 8, 1939. She attended Greenfield High School. After marrying on August 9, 1959 and beginning her family, she attended Findlay College. While working and raising a family, she enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader, singing at church and coaching soccer and softball. She retired as a bookkeeper for Ohio Pipe, was a prolific writer, an avid reader and a talented seamstress.

Sondra’s leadership and drive ushered in equal opportunity and recognition for female athletes at Findlay HIgh School, via Title lX of the Education Amendments. Her actions created many more female sports teams.

Sondra was a beloved wife, mom, grandma and sister and while she is greatly missed, we are blessed to have had her in our lives and are happy that she is continuing to enjoy her singing with all the angels of Heaven.
