Obituary of Dorothy C. Bartlett

Dorothy “Dot” Bartlett, 96, of Lexington, SC, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021. She was the youngest of 7 siblings, born June 30, 1925 in Atlanta, GA to the late Robert Melville Clarke and Ella Beatrice Stovall. She was married briefly to Woodrow P. Bartlett, now deceased.

Dot worked in manufacturing in the Atlanta, GA area, taking a 2nd job waitressing when needed, and was a long-time member of Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula, GA. She loved her family and friends, her home of 40 years in Dacula, GA which she shared with her daughter, the late Dorothy “Dee” Moore, gardening, travel, mystery novels, sewing, and puzzles. Dot was independent, hard-working, loved to laugh, and was a source of strength for family and friends throughout her life.

She is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Gregory & Kathleen Moore of Lexington, SC and Michael & Karen Moore of West Columbia, SC, and many extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Hebron Baptist Church Chapel.
