Obituary of Avah Joan Cook Gardelle

Avah Joan Cook Gardelle passed away on July 17, 2021. Joan was born in Lexington, SC to Thomas Leroy Cook and Susie Avah Hobbs Cook on March 12, 1933.

She graduated from Lexington High School June 4, 1951. Joan attended Winthrop College and the School of Nursing, Columbia Hospital, graduating in 1956. She dedicated her life to nursing for 40 years, mostly in geriatric care.

Joan was married to William "Bill" Gardelle. She had two sons, Thomas "Tom" Preston Curtis and Timothy "Tim" William Gardelle.

Joan was predeceased by her parents and son, Thomas Preston Curtis.
