Obituary of Joyce A Poole

Joyce A Poole, age 81, of West Columbia, South Carolina passed away June 13, 2021 at Lexington Medical Center. Joyce was born on September 10, 1939, in Lowell, North Carolina, where she also grew up. She was the daughter of the late Franklin O. Andrews and Leta B. Brady Andrews.

Joyce graduated from Kings business college in Charlotte, North Carolina. She worked as a secretary for Sally Clothing Manufacturing and Southland Life Insurance.

Joyce and Maurice Poole were married on February 4, 1961, and had two children, Renae and Michael. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles and attending church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice R. Poole of Sawyerdale, South Carolina, and her brother Frank Andrews of Dallas, North Carolina.

She is survived by her brother Allen Andrews and his wife Georgia, Joyce’s daughter, Frances Renae Funderburk and her husband Chuck M. Funderburk, her son Michael Maurice Poole, her granddaughter, Katherine Ann Johnson, and Katherine’s husband Colin M. Johnson, her nephews Toby and Jamey Andrews, and her niece Leann Tranthum.

Joyce A. Poole was laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Maurice R. Poole, on June 30, 2021 in Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington, South Carolina.
