Obituary of Margaret Irene Green
Margaret Irene Green or “Rita” as we all know and loved her was called to heavenly rest May 28, 2021. She asked, do not weep, don’t break down and cry- celebration my life, cherish our memories for I am no longer in pain. I am free.
Rita was born March 25, 1958, in Winnsboro, SC to Neal and Lillian Code-Green. She is the baby of a very close family of four sisters and two brothers. She is proceeded in death by her parents Neal and Lillian Green, her brother Bobby Green and her sister Deborah Harvey.
She completed her formal education in the Fairfield County School District. She worked for many years at Tanglewood Nursing Facility. Following her employment with Tanglewood, she worked at Walmart finally retiring in 2008
In her retirement she enjoyed a full and good life, for her that meant flea marketing with her sister Deborah, traveling to the beach with her daughter and grandchildren, and caring for her many friends and family. A true girl raised in the South! On a good day you could find her in Middle-Six picking pork salad or in Blackjack picking blackberries with her brother Frank.
Her greatest love was God and her family.
Rita’s loving legacy lives on through her son Donte D. Green (Bridgette), two daughters, Ladonna Green and Crystal E. Green, her sisters Lillian Green (Jasper), Mary Green (Thomas), Frances Chitty (Robert), brother William Green. Five grandchildren, Saran and Dajuan McClurkin who lovingly called her “momma”, Mykiah Murphy, Donte Green Jr. and Caillon Green and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends.
