Obituary of Roberta B. Nall
Roberta “Robbie” B. Nall, 84, formerly of Little River, SC, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021. Robbie was born on March 10th, 1937 in Madison County, Georgia to the late Cecil Brown and Selma Smith. At the young age of 21, she married George Manuel Gehrels, a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. Throughout over 20 years of marriage, they adventured across the United States, Costa Rica and Cuba and raised four children, as well as numerous family pets. She remarried in 1983 to Robert G. Nall, who was an Air Force veteran and later retired as a federal air traffic controller in 1987. They were a happy couple living in Atlanta, GA, Brigantine, NJ, Little River & Lexington, SC.
While impossible to describe her with only a few words, Robbie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. To be loved by Robbie was to be loved unconditionally. Robbie was smart, kind, had an adventurous spirit and lit up a room with her smile. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her. Robbie was, in the words of her sisters and brother, the strong one of the litter.
Robbie was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil C. Brown and Selma Lee Smith, older brother Joe Brown and older sister Winnie Brown. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Nall, her children; George Philip Gehrels (Tatiana), Anthony Patrick Gehrels, Angela Gehrels DeLoach and William Daniel Gehrels (Deborah); step-daughter Karen Nall, sister Eula A. Eskew, grandchildren; Joshua M. Gehrels (Samantha), Christian P. Gehrels (Fe Marie), Lauren C. Deloach, Mathew J. Deloach, William A. Gehrels, Jasmine E. Gehrels, Camila Gehrels and step-grandson Emmanuel F. Rodriguez Moncada; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Fischer, Bastian, Maximillian & August; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews and great friends.
