Obituary of Macia Sellers

Macia Sellers was the daughter of Lt.Colonel Horace Crouch and Mary Epting Crouch of Columbia, SC and has one brother, Martin. She graduated from A.C.Flora High School in 1965. She is the former wife of Samuel James Sellers, also of Columbia, with whom she had two children, Scot and Brandi. In decades of service in the healthcare industry, she has been a Surgical Technician in the ER, was a home health care nurse, worked as a MRS 2 (Mental Retardation Specialist level 2) at Midlands Center, worked at DHEC in both the STD department and as a Family Planning nurse, worked for Columbia Colon and Rectal, and finished up her career in semi-retirement as a bus monitor on Richland 2’s special needs transportation to school service. She loved gardening and entertaining, and could usually be found puttering in her front yard if one cared to stop and socialize. She is survived by her son Scot Sellers (Melanie) and daughter Brandi (David) Hammond. She has six grandchildren - Sebastian, Duncan, Elizabeth, Walter "Philip", Miranda, and Jaclyn as well as four great-grandchildren - Alan, Evie, Aimee and Emory. Her brother Martin, sister-in-law Lynn, and nephews Chase and Hayden live in Blythewood. Memorial service is to be announced later. South Carolina Cremation Society is assisting the family.
