Jackie received her welding certificate from Albany Technical College in Albany, Georgia and spent her career as a welder. Even though she only stood 5’ 2”, she could weld circles around her male counterparts and truly loved her job.

Jackie loved the lake, which was part of her soul, and her family shared her love and many family activities that took place on the water. She loved her annual Heyward family reunion that took place at Clark’s Hill Lake which reminded her of the times when her mother, Mary (Heyward) Withers, could participate. She also loved to attend concerts and go to the beach with family and friends.

Jackie could always light up a room and would go out of her way to help others. She had a way of making others feel special and a great love for her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
