Obituary of Toni L. DeClercq

Early Thursday morning, November 19, 2020, Toni DeClercq, 62, passed away peacefully in the great care of the staff at PruittHealth of Columbia after a long battle with Huntington's Disease.

Toni was born in Waukee, Iowa, and traveled to many different areas, including Florida, Virginia, and South Carolina, over her life. She was a CPA for the City of Columbia in South Carolina, and left to be a homemaker and stay at home mom.

Toni enjoyed reading, word puzzles, playing with pets, helping her daughter's teachers with activities, and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was raising her only child, Brittany. Toni will be remembered for her enjoyment of music and dance, her love for helping teach her daughter's classmates, and her endless amounts of love for friends, family, and even strangers out and about.

Toni is survived by her husband of 32 years Bruce and daughter Brittany (Josh) of Lexington, South Carolina, her nieces, nephews, and cousins across the country. She was preceded in death by her father John Tibben, mother Hazel Tibben-Mueller, step father O.H. “Bing” Mueller, brother Dennis Tibben, and sister Marlys Felt.

She will be greatly missed by all of those who's lives she's touched.

There will be no formal memorial service for her, but there will be an informal service of sorts being held by Brittany over the course of the next few weeks. Please contact her for more information regarding this event. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Huntington's Disease Society of America and PruittHealth in Toni's memory.
