Obituary of Robert Michael Whittle

Robert Michael Whittle, age 66 of Lexington SC passed peacefully in his home on November 13, 2020 after a very long battle of multiple health issues and a new discovery of Lung cancer. He was born on January 30, 1954 in Kershaw County SC. He is preceded in death by his parents Melton L. and Lois Whittle. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda “Lou Lou” as many would call her, daughter Michelle and son Michael along with 6 grandchildren; Tiffany, Dorian, Kalyn, Sierra, Savannah and Cherokee. Also Robert leaves behind 2 sisters, Gloria and Cissy and one brother, Allen (Debra) as well as 2 nieces, Bobbie Ann and Amanda and 3 nephews, Chris, Dusty and Billy. And several great nieces and nephews.

Robert loved to fish. His love of fishing has continued to show in his children and grandchildren and will be passed down for generations to come. He spent the majority of his life somewhere out on Lake Wateree. He enjoyed racing. Everything from the dirt track to the drag strip and nascar. He was also a connoisseur of many different genres of music. From Classic Rock, classic Soul and R&B and a little country to name a few. That taste in music was also passed down to his grandchildren. For nearly 40 years of his life Robert drove a big rig. Although it was his way of providing for his family, I do believe he loved it. He inspired many to take hold of that “big wheel” but his legacy will be carried on by his Daughter, Michelle.

Robert will truly be missed by everyone. A celebration of life service will be held out at Lake Wateree on December 12, 2020 at noon. The exact location is still being determined but will be decided Thanksgiving weekend. Please, come as you are. Robert was not a very elaborate person. He was very simple and wouldn’t have it any other way. COVID measures should be taken when attending this service.
