Obituary for Robert Lee Chambers
Robert Lee Chambers, 68, of Sumter, South Carolina passed away August 11, 2020 peacefully at his home. He was born on April 1, 1952 in Bishopville, South Carolina to the late Ernest and Annie (Murray) Chambers. Robert was a kind hearted man that enjoyed life. He enjoyed the simple things in life like watching squirrels play in the trees and watching his favorite westerns like The Rifleman, Raw Hide, and Hang 'em High. He would watch anything with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood or Steven Segal. Robert also loved to cook, and was famous for his pork pot. He had a talent for making neckbones, pig tails and pig feet into a delicious meal. When he was not cooking himself, he liked to frequent Campbells Barbeque on 521. Robert was also an active member of the Fork Softball team for over 10 years and was a former member of the Gun Spring Lodge, Benjamin Chapter for 13 years. Robert loved the Lord, and was a member of Mount Olive AME Church in Sumter.
Robert is survived by his family, and his best friends, J.T. Gallishaw, and Joe McCauley.
