Obituary of Mary King

Mary “Mae” King, age 72, returned to the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2020 in Blackville, South Carolina. She was born June 13, 1948 in South Boston, Virginia to the late John H. and Juanita Newton. She married the late James E. Moody, on July 26, 1971. She was a devoted Christian who loved the word of the Lord. Before being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she was known for her love of fashion and cosmetology.

Mary King is survived by her loving Daughter Laverne D. Newton, Granddaughter Shatoya L. Wright (Quincy E. Wright), Grandson Justin T. Newton, Great Granddaughter Kaidyn A. Wright, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary was strong, determined, and a fiercely independent woman. We will miss her dearly.
