Linda Autry Cockrell, 74, wife of Arlander McKarion (Lane) Cockrell, Saluda, South Carolina went to sleep in death on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Linda was pre-deceased by her parents Frank and June Harwood Autry; her sister, Janice Hall; and sister-in-law Kelly Autry all of
Batesburg, South Carolina.

She is survived by her husband, step-children, Kenneth (Jennifer) Cockrell, of Irmo, South Carolina, Debbie (Graham) Brewer, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Karen (Larry) Watts of Cayce, South Carolina; her brothers Steven (Barbara) Autry, Jeff Autry both of Batesburg, South Carolina, and David (Debbie) Autry of Leicester, North Carolina.  She is survived by grandchildren Harrison and Jacquie Goodman, Weston and Caleb Brewer, and Amber Warren.  She leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Born in Miami, Florida, Linda relocated to Batesburg where she owned her own beauty salon, The Shear Cropper.

She married Lane Cockrell on June 14, 1986 and found her niche in caring and teaching pre-school children several years later when she opened her own in-home child care center, Linda's Daycare.  She had many children under her care over the 20 years it was open and was regarded as a very effective teacher preparing young children for kindergarten.

Linda, one of Jehovah's Witnesses baptized in 1962, was an active member of the Northwest Batesburg congregation.
