Sylvia Ethelee Wade Woodhams, age 57, died peacefully in her sleep on November 30, 2022, at 4:28am at Lexington Medical Center in Columbia. She joined God after fighting liver failure and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Mike Woodhams and her daughters, Emily Platt, and Erica Woodhams.
Sylvia Woodhams was preceded in death by her parents, James Lester Wade and Bertie Inez Lucas Wade, her brother, Ronald Woodson Wade, her sister, Cheryl Joanne Dixon and her son, David James Sutton.
She was born in Lancaster, South Carolina on December 5, 1964, where she grew up. She attended Lancaster High School. After getting her GED, she went to The University of South Carolina Lancaster. A few years later, she met Mike through some friends. Later, they moved to Columbia, and she transferred to Midlands Technical College where she studied business and management. She and Mike were married on November 19, 1994.
Sylvia worked for over 25 + years as a property manager for multiple housing communities. She made many neighboring friends.
Sylvia was many things: a devoted daughter, a loving sister and cousin, beloved wife and mother, a cherished worker, and a friend to many. Sylvia loved to garden, do yard work, make crafts, and tell stories. She loved flowers and especially butterflies! She could tell you what any plant was just by looking at it. She collected vintage China, glass, and trivets. She loved her husband, children and dog, Buck, more than anything in the world.
