John D. Teague

 

John D. Teague, 81, of Irmo, South Carolina passed away peacefully May 14, 2020 surrounded by family. He was born in Fairfield County, South Carolina, on August 19, 1938, the son of late Gilliam Senn Teague and Bertice Neville McCollum Teague. On November 6, 1958, he married Nancy Jean Senn Teague who survives. 

He was the second of 4 siblings, all of whom survive. His brother Pete Teague and wife Linda Teague live in Jamestown, North Carolina; sister Bertice Robinson and husband Richard Robinson in Roebuck, South Carolina, and brother Willie Teague and wife Marcella Teague in Mebane, North Carolina. 

As a child John moved from Fairfield County to Whitmire, South Carolina, before he began school and graduated from Whitmire High School in 1956. He attended The University of South Carolina in Columbia and moved to Rock Hill, South Carolina, in 1959. He began selling office furniture and supplies for Harper Brothers (later Corporate Express), where he worked for 48 years. 

He is survived by his son John D. Teague, Jr. of Lexington, South Carolina.; son Troy Teague and daughter-in-law Cindi Teague of Chapin, South Carolina; and son Matthew Teague and daughter-in-law Sarah Sanders Teague of Whites Creek, Tennessee; grandson John David Teague III, granddaughter-in-law Krystal Teague; grandson Andrew Teague and granddaughter-in-law Kendall Teague, granddaughter Lauren Prochak and grandson-in-law Steve Prochak, grandson Troy Teague Jr. and granddaughter-in-law Libby Teague, grandson Travis Teague and granddaughter-in-law Mellette Teague; granddaughter Ava Jean Teague; grandson Locke Teague; great grandchildren Jack Teague, Layne Teague, Lily Kate Teague, Hamilton Teague, Ellis Teague, Luke Prochak, Maggie Prochak, Elzie Teague, and Everett Teague. 

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter. A memorial service for family will be held in Greenville, South Carolina.
