Obituary of Mark W Atkison, Sr.

On Nov 2, 2022, Mark Atkison passed away unexpectedly at the age of 48. He was born July 10, 1974 to Delbert and Glenda Atkison. After graduating from Bakersfield High School in 1992, he served in the Army National Guard as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, retiring in 2020.

Proceeded in death by his parents Glenda Atkison Wesbrook, Delbert Atkison and step-father Franklin Wesbrook.

Survived by his children, Mark Atkison "Jr" (Charleston), Jessica Miller (Colorado), brother, James Atkison (Lisa) (Bakersfield), two grandchildren, a nephew, and countless friends.

Mark was well known in the motorcycle community and was involved in several charity events and rides to raise money and awareness to different causes such as; Toys for Tots, Epworth Childrens Home and Veteran’s fundraisers.

Mark was loved by many, and found his happiness in ensuring the happiness of others. He was a loyal and steadfast friend for anyone who needed one. Those who knew him can count themselves as lucky. He took great pride in his son, Jr (sidekick) as well as his friends, and he had lots of friends. He will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will be Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Caughman Road Park Gymnasium 2733 Trotter Rd, Hopkins, SC.
