Obituary of Carol Anne Reardon

Carol Anne Reardon died peacefully on October 29, 2022 at the Lexington Hospice House. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Carol was born April 7, 1947 in Sumter, S.C. and was the daughter of the late D.C. Reardon and Kate M. Blackmon. Carol graduated from King’s Business College and later earned a Dental Hygiene degree from Midland Technical College. She practiced dental hygiene in the Columbia area for more than 30 years until her retirement. She was an active member of New Heights Church and belonged to the Hosanna Sisterhood Sunday School Class. Carol was an excellent cook and was in charge of cooking Wednesday night suppers for her church. She was also an accomplished crafter and sold her crafts and jewelry at various craft fairs and gift stores.

Carol was preceded in death by her father D.C. Reardon, mother and second father, Mr and Mrs. Harry Blackmon, sister, Gail Womble, and nephew, Herbert (Herbie) Womble.

Carol is survived by her brother, Dr. Harry Blackmon and his wife, Jane; brother-in-law, Herb Womble; nieces, Vivian Kate (Vicki) Strickland (Jeff) and Jean Marie DeBarros (Alex) and nephew, David Blackmon.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any memorials be made to New Heights Church 5501 Broad River Rd. Columbia, SC.
