Sue & family, we are so apologetic to have not attended Claude's memorial service. Only late on Sunday afternoon, long after his service, did I get around to reading the newspaper and his obituary. Claude was a special person to me (Larry) because he, my longstanding Sunday school teacher, homed in on me and encouraged me to teach his class since he was taking another assignment. He offered a lot of encouragement, and battling my self-doubts, I accepted the challenge he offered. Claude was such a good teacher that the bar was set really high, but with his encouragement, I gave it my best and taught the class for the next 7 years. He had helped my find my gift, and I will forever remember his encouragement and support.
Sue, you will always be remembered for your kindness and good humor, and we still remember what it meant to us that you attended the services for our son George William, from whom many of our friends had turned away.
You both are special people in our book, and again we apologize for not having been able to attend Claude's service today. He lived the kind of life that wrote his own eulogy, and we know where he is today. Our prayers will be with his beloved wife and family. Geri & Larry
