Obituary of Judith Leach Kaylor

Judith Leach Kaylor of Hopkins, South Carolina passed away on August 14, 2022 with her family by her side.  She was 74 years old. Born July 6, 1948 in Minden, West Virginia to Jack and Corallia Leach.  She was married to David Kaylor on June 3, 1967.

Judith was an exceptionally proud and loving wife of 55 years, mother of four children, grandmother of eight grandchildren and eldest sibling to a brother and sister. Her greatest love was her husband and family. She cared deeply for them and always put them before herself. Judith was a very supportive military wife ensuring her husband was ready for duty while also providing a home and raising their children single-handedly while he served abroad. She too served her country as a Civil Service GS6 Administrator at Fort Meade, Maryland and later overseas at the US Embassy in the United Arab Emirates as the unit commander's executive secretary, garnering the Key of Excellence for exceptional service to the corps.  Judith was a wonderful mother and was always there whenever her family needed her. Her children called her their “best friend.”  She loved literature most, gardening and caring for any animal in need.

Judith was predeceased by her parents, Jack & Corallia Leach and granddaughter, Lauren Huffman.  She is survived by her husband, David Clayton Kaylor, daughter, Dana Huffman, son in law, Chris Huffman, sons, James Kaylor, Bryan Kaylor, Jonathan Kaylor, daughter in law, Tiffany Kaylor, grandchildren, Danielle and grandson in law, Josh Knight, Andrew and granddaughter in law, Ashlyn Kaylor, Savana and Kaelyn Huffman, Bella, Easton, Abram Kaylor, her brother, Charles Leach and sister, Deborah Seeds.

While Judy’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember her in a special way that celebrates her life and honors her spirit. They will share plans at a later date.  She is greatly missed by all.
