Obituary of Joseph G. Vicino, Sr.

Joe passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on May 19th, 2022.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held on June 26th, 2022 from 11:00am - 3:00 pm at Powell's Funeral Home, 67 Broadway, Amityville, NY 11701. 

Joe is survived by his wife, Betsy and his 3 sons, Joseph Jr (Katy), Eric (Urszula), and Anthony as well as his first wife, Karen Vicino. Joe also had two granddaughters, Mia and Zophia. He is also survived by his sister, Deborah Vicino, stepdaughters, Jacqueline, Danielle, and Michelle Mumford (Sean) and grandchildren, Jayden, Jovanni, Sean Jr, Michael and Mya, nephews, Christian Vicino (Tabitha), John Vicino, Frank Marino (Simona) Michael Marino and niece, Nicole Stolfa (Eric) as well as many great nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters in law and many many loving cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister, Teresa Adimando and brother, John Vicino.

Joe Vicino was a fantastic, passionate guitar player, singer, songwriter and performer.

His Wednesday night jams at the Branding Iron and Jessie's Roadhouse were the hub of the local scene for years and he fronted many great bands including Blue Avenue, The Smokedaddys and The Joe Vicino Band. Joe hosted a Christmas toy drive for over 20 years to benefit sick children in the hospital during holidays.

Joe had a big heart and a generous spirit and through the years made many friends both on and off the stage. He also was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame as a Great Blues Guitarist in 2013.

Joe Vicino will be missed by so very many people.
