Obituary of David Lewis Boland

David Lewis Boland was born in Newberry, SC on January 28, 1948 and passed away May 12, 2022 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.

Lewis was the son of George Edgar and Annie Laurie Dowd Boland. After graduating Mid-Carolina High School in 1966, he joined the Army National Guard, Whitmire, SC for which he was extremely proud of. He worked at Shakespeare for a very short time and went to work at Winn Dixie, where he remained for 38 years, until his retirement in 2004.  He had also been a past member of the Moose Lodge in Newberry. He loved to watch old westerns and Andy Griffith.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Gladys Meetze Boland, daughter, Krystin B. Williams (Jason) and his four grandchildren that he absolutely adored being papa to, Benjamin K. Meck, US Navy, Hawaii, Bradley and Daijiro Williams both of Chapin, Paris Adams, Columbia, and sister, Lorene B. Stuck, Prosperity and niece, Susan S. Jackson (Billy) and her family of Little Mountain, SC. and special cousin, Danny Dowd, and many cousins that he treasured as siblings.

Memorial services will be held on July 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Luthern Chruch, 2496 Hwy 733, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Diabetes Association.
